Ingredients
- 1T olive oil or butter
- 1lb chicken, cut into bite size pieces
- ½ onion, chopped
- ½ C soy sauce
- ½ C sugar substitute – I use Truvia
- 1tsp garlic salt
- 1lb broccoli, cut into bite size pieces
Directions
- Heat oil or butter in medium sized skillet over medium heat
- Saute chicken and onion over medium heat 8-10 minutes, or until cooked through
- Mix soy sauce, sweetener, and garlic salt in a small bowl
- Add broccoli and pour sauce over chicken and broccoli
- Cover and simmer until broccoli is cooked, about 5 minutes

Ours turned out soupy and really sweet lacking that caramel color in your picture. Any advice?
Hmmm, did you use frozen broccoli or fresh? The only thing I can think of is that if you used frozen, it may make it more watery when it thaws and cooks. I’ve made this recipe for years and never had it turn out soupy. As far as the sweetness goes, depending on the sugar substitute you use, you may need to decrease it as not all artificial sweeteners convert the same. The only one I’ve personally used for this recipe is Truvia.

I use happy forks recipe analyzer to figure out all the macros. You can also use any of the nutrition analyzers included on many of the tracking apps. All you have to do is enter the ingredients and divide by servings. Hope that helps!
